Jenna Fischer is best known for her role as Pam Beesly on the acclaimed television show The Office, for which she was awarded the Emmy nomination for the Best Supporting Actress as well as two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance in the Ensemble Comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna's mother Anne used to perform in dramas at church as a child This sparked her enthusiasm for theatre.
A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. The Off-Broadway production of Reasons for Being Happy was written and directed by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. After starring in Steve Martin's most recent production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she went on to perform the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office star Angela Kinsey's best friend in real life and Fischer started her own podcast, the Office Ladies podcast, on Earwolf at the end of October 2019. The podcast quickly became popular. Every week it ranked in the Top Ten in global downloads and had more than 200 million in just its initial two years. The podcast premiered in January of 2021. Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
The Actor's Life was her first novel, and describes the path she traveled starting in St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood which is where she discovered her calling as an actress professionally. Her next book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is an autobiography about her best friend as well as their time at The Office.
