Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi is the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci aged six. At first, she competed in the junior national championships of Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. Then in the year 1970, she was crowned champion. In her 1972 first international meet that was an preolympics junior event for countries in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she won crowned all-around Junior Champion. At her first competitive event at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals aswell being awarded a silver. The first female to do a reverse double salo on the uneven parallel bar when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she began her career in the entertainment field performing as a figure skater. Together with her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the entertainment industry in her teens. She began her career as figure skater performing with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating which included stage performances.
